Ander, a Dutch philanthropist who funded the construction of a toilet facility
at Amhen Comprehensive Nursery School at Brikama Jalambang has handed the
facility to the school management.
The school’s proprietor, Momodou L. Danso expressed appreciation to the donor, saying the facility was a necessity in the school.
He said the school was established up in 2001 with the aim to provide quality education to pupils. “The school has an enrollment of 134 children out of which 63 are boys and 71 are girls.”
Mr. Danso also told the gathering that the school still faces some challenges including security and fencing of the school as they are very close to the forest. He said his target is to upgrade the school into Lower Basic School but that target is yet to be achieved due to financial constraint.
The donor Gert Colenbran Ander said his dream was to support the school with toilet facility which, he said is achieved. “Considering the importance of health, I felt delighted to support the school with the toilet facility and the support will continue.”
