Central River Region (CRR) will today Monday 2nd March 2015 lock horns with West Coast Region (WCR) in the finals of the three-day regional football showpiece, organised by the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) as part of activities making the 50th anniversary of nationhood.

CRR made it to the finals after beating Banjul 2-nil in their semi-finals encounter played at the Serrekunda West Mini Stadium yesterday, Sunday.

Mawdo Jallow was the hero for CRR, after netting both goals for his side in the first period of the game.

WCR secured a place in the finals following a 2-1 win over Lower River Region in their semi-finals game played at the Box Bar Mini Stadium in Brikama.

The finals of the competition, which was played in a knockout format, will take place at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.

The championship kicked off on Saturday 28th February, and was competed for by all the seven regions across the country.

The local organizing committee for the event decided that the championship was strictly for non-league players, and thus no 1st and 2nd division players took part in the Jubilee Football Jamboree.
