Credit Union Needs Adjustment - Mrs. Fatoumata Saho Cham

The acting General Manager of the Gambia Teachers Union Cooperative Credit Union GTUCCU, Mrs. Fatoumata Saho Cham has told the GTUCCU members that time have change in all spheres of life and their credit union needs adjustment if they are to continue growing at the same time providing relevant, cost-effective and sustainable services in a tight and competitive market.

Mrs. Cham made this statement recently during the GTUCCU 12th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at the Gambia Teacher Union headquarters in Kanifing.

According to Mrs. Cham, she is determined to pursue her board's agenda and top of her office priorities will be the teachers village, the medical scheme and the revival of the consumer cooperative under the new approach of making them member -base.

She said over the next few years, a thorough feasibility study would be conducted to explore the possibility of opening the second Regional office while ways are sought to start the construction of the Basse office.

Others who presented their papers were the GTUCCU chairman Numo TF Saidykhan, Unions treasurer Hon. Haddy S. Njie and the GTU presidents Omar J Ndure.

At the end of the AGM, the following people were elected into office for a period of five years: Chairman, Edrisa Bojang, Vice -chairman, Mrs. Sohna Samba-Williams and Abdoukarim Sey as Secretary General.

Haruna Bah, Lamin Marong, Fatou Jammeh, Fafa D. Jobe, Amie Njie Sonkso will serve in the loan committee for a period of two years and Amie Faye Sanyang will also serve for two years in the supervisory committee.
