Court martial set to rule on Ex-President Jammeh’s former aides

The Court Martial chaired by Judge –Advocate Amina Saho-Ceesay sitting on the trial of two former Ex-President Jammeh aides, brigadier generals; Ansumana Tamba and Umpa Mendy is set to deliver its ruling on a submission of no case to answer filed by the defence counsel on behalf of the duo.

It could be recalled that brigadier generals, Ansumana Tamba and Umpa Mendy left with Ex-President Jammeh in January 2017 for Equatorial Guinea and returned after more than 15 months stint. Upon their return, they were arrested and arraigned before a court martial for the offence of dissertation amongst others.

The prosecution had called several witnesses to prove the charge against the ex-president aides and closed its case but the defence filed a no case to answer and the said Court Martial is expected to deliver its ruling at the resumption of its sitting pending when hearing notices are issued.
