Simeon A. Abi of the High Court in Banjul Annex on 18th January, 2018
confirmed that the said court had made an order for the sureties of one Oumie
Saffiatou Jallow to show cause why the bail bond should not be forfeited.
Justice Abi made this confirmation after State counsel, M. Singhateh informed the court that Oumie Saffiatou Jallow was absent in court when the matter came up.
State Counsel Singhateh observed that the court had made an order on 28 June, 2017 for the sureties of Oumie Saffiatou Jallow to show cause why the bail bond should not be forfeited.
The court confirmed from the record that the said order was made, directing the clerk of the court to obtain details of the bail bond and recognizance from the principal registrar for further action.
The matter was then adjourned to the 6 February, 2018 for continuation of hearing.
It could be recalled that Oumie Saffiatou Jallow and five others are charged with seven counts including conspiracy to defraud, obtaining money by false pretence, cheating, forgery and altering documents.
