charitable organisation CONTANO Foundation and a Belgium-based non-governmental
organisation WARME GLOED have pledged to provide modern and state-of-the art
medical equipment to Basse Major Hospital in Gambia’s farthest Upper River Region.
CONTANO Foundation’s president Madam Rita Vancoillie said her foundation has been operating in the country particularly in the Upper River Region for the past three years. She said they are currently working with WARME GLOED on modalities and logistics to boost the Basse Major Hospital.
According to her, a container of state-of-the art medical equipment, including operating materials for Out Patient Department (OPD) and beds will soon arrive for Basse Major Hospital.
She said they are also supporting eleven families in Upper River Region who are mostly orphans and abandoned babies with finance, clothing, toys and other materials. “These families have been linked with families in Belgium who are supporting them.”
