stone for the construction of a new State Intelligence Service (SIS) office was
recently laid in Kaur, Central River Region (CRR) North. The delegation also
visited the construction site of the intelligence service’s sixth office block,
residence and a conference hall in Jangjanbureh.
Kaur Imam Sheikh Nyang and Alkalo Mustapha Njie both said the office premises will play important role in maintaining peace and stability within the area. They also thanked the government and SIS for ensuring security in Kaur.
Ousman Sowe, director general of SIS said government has huge concern in the creation of proper security in The Gambia. He later had lengthy discussion with chiefs on different issues pertaining national development and security.
Director of SIS for CRR-North, Demba Ceesay said the office will help to promote socio-economic development and stability in the area.
The SIS team later proceeded to Jangjanbureh where they visited the ongoing construction of SIS headquarter.
Governor Sulayman Barry said the construction of SIS office in CRR was timely and very important to the people of the region.
A senior teacher in Kaur Upper Basic School Hassan Baby Sowe said Kaur is now safe for people to leave and do their daily activities without fear.
