Macky Sall has been confirmed elected with 58.26%, according to the Constitutional
Court of Senegal on Tuesday.
His new mandate will start from 2 April 2019. “I am the president of all Senegalese. During my new mandate, I will invite all stakeholders, to be precise, the opposition and all other associations who are working for the peace and development of the country,” he said yesterday.
On national dialogue, he said: “I will invite former head of states Abdou Diouf and Abdoulaye wade. We will discuss political reforms and resources of the country.”
“I invite all Senegalese to be on board to work for the betterment of the country. I greet all Senegalese because I am their president. We should unite and dialogue for the progress of nation. I should thank the press which did a good job for covering of the spot counting.”
“I thank the minister of Interior in charge for elections and his staff for conducting the election in a very transparent manner because the press was present in all the polling stations.”
Election in Senegal cannot not be rigged; let’s come together to work for the development of the nation,” he concluded.
Issa Sall and Madike Niang who did not poll out 5% of the total votes cast will lose their D2.5 million Deposit.
