The head coach of the Gambia national senior team has called on football lovers in The Gambia to come out en mass to support the Scorpions during an encounter with Namibia on Friday in Banjul.

Coach Raoul Savoy urged the fans to fill the Independence Stadium to capacity during the game, which is part of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

The football tactician made this remark on Monday during a media conference at the Gambia Football Federation secretariat in Kanifing layout.

“The fans should come out in their large numbers to make the Independence Stadium fill to capacity,” he said.“They should cheer the team in order to boost their hopes of snatching massive victory against Namibia and prepare well for the return leg.”

Coach Savoy noted that the game against Namibia is going to be tough but his side “will try by all means to secure a convincing win”.

A win over Namibia will fancy Gambia’s chances of qualifying for the second round against Guinea Conakry in November.
