Coach Sanyang blame 5-1 Mauling to 'Artificial Turf'

Musa Sanyang the head coach of Waterman FC of Basse, has attributed his side's heavy defeat in hands of  Nema United FC was owing to his players' lack of experience in playing on artificial turf.

Coach Sanyang made these remarks following their 5-1 thumping in the hands of GFA second division outfit Nema United FC, in the first round of the 2009 Gamtel sponsored FA Cup championship on Sunday at the Brikama Mini Stadium.

The defeated coach went on to reveal that this is the first time his players played on an artificial turf and gave the impression that his boys have played extremely well and  created many clear-cut chances but were unable to penetrate their opponent Nema United FC's defence line.

The hopes and ambitions of Waterman in the FA Cup have been defeated and therefore coach Sanyang claimed that "his target was to win Nema United but it was not possible because his players are not used to artificial turf".

He further revealed that his team have prepared well for the FA Cup championship but were disappointed at the end of the game and he expressed optimism that the team will go back and prepare for next year's championship.

He applauded his boys's brilliant performance and urged them to keep up the challenge and hailed all those who contributed towards the welfare of the team.

According to Coach Sanyang, Waterman FC is a team with young and talented players and some of their players are playing in GFA first division, and the club will continue to produce good players in the future for the various national teams.
