for Leadership and Management for Sustainable Development (CLMSD) has recently
held a one-day Regional Youth Leadership and Character Development training at
Pakalinding Youth Center in Lower River Region.
The training was organised in partnership with the National Youth Council Regional office of LRR.
Regional Youth chairperson for Lower River Region, Saikou Darboe, welcomed the participants and commended the founder of CLMSD, Jobarteh Fofana, a native of Jarra Sankwia for the initiative and foresight.
Jobarteh Fofana, in his statement said his organisation’s grand vision is to work with national, local and international organisations, to promote effective leadership development and character building to accelerate national development.
He said the importance of true leadership, character building and patriotism to sustainable national development is key.
Mr. Fofana further said that CLMSD is a non-governmental organisation focusing on contributing to make a difference and bring about progressive socio-economic development.
He acknowledged the critical role played by the National Youth Council, without whose collaboration and support, he said, the programme would have not been possible. He also thanked the Regional Youth Chairperson Saikou Darboe for the outstanding role he played in the organising and co-ordinating the training.
Muhamed Kanyi, a youth mentor and co-facilitator of the training, said he was delighted to be part of the capacity development and mentorship training for youth representatives of LRR, saying the training was designed to unlock and nurture leadership potential of the youth to enable them become responsible future leaders.
Youth representative of Mansakonko Area Council, Karim Y.
