The Institute for the Advancement of Children’s Rights (IACR) recently held a training seminar for police officers on investigation and prosecution of cases involving children in conflict with the law.

The training, held at the Faculty of Law of the University of The Gambia, targeted 20 police prosecutors and investigators.

It was a follow-up to formal consultations between IACR president and founder, Malick HB Jallow, and the Inspector General of Police Yankuba Sonko to strengthen collaboration and cooperation between the Police and IACR for a more effective child justice system.

Barrister Jallow said the seminar was also part of broader efforts by IACR to raise awareness and build capacity of key stakeholders in the child justice system.

The event was graced by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Professor Abubacarr Senghore, and facilitated by IACR members, Ousman Kujabi and Mustapha Kah.
