executive officer of TAF Africa Global said his vision is to deliver a total of
1 million affordable homes in The Gambia over the next 20 years.
Speaking at the signing Dalaba estate, TAF Tower and Madiba mall extension projects at the Madiba Mall in Brufut, Mustapha Njie said TAF Africa Global is registered in 8 African countries with dominant presence in Nigeria and The Gambia.
According to him, the housing agency returned to The Gambia in the last two years to take its rightful place as the leading estate developer. “Dalaba estate has been well advertised and it is located at the Sukuta, Jabang road. It is a 375 affordable housing and the contractors are going to invest about 30 million dalasis in it,” he said.
Mr. Njie said they would sublease to about 50 contractors, mainly local agencies, adding that they started real estate business some 28 years ago when they used to do the construction by themselves. “But now we have the goal of becoming a real estate developer by building capacities, mentoring and inspiring young Gambian and African contractors to take over the responsibilities,” he said.
According to him, about 25 people are employed from every house they build, saying that is direct employment. “So if we are to build 375 houses in Dalaba estate, we will be creating over one thousand jobs and if we succeed in building thousand houses every year, then we will be creating about 25 thousand jobs and this is what we need in the country most,” he highlighted.
He declared that the second contract will be the construction of TAF Africa Global head office in the Kanifing institutional area which will be a four storey building and will be the first green environmentally friendly building in the country. “This project total sum is about 200 million dalasi,” he said.
Amadou Camara of TP construction said Gambians should support TAF Africa Global for the laudable efforts in contributing to developing the country, saying CEO Mr. Njie is a man with vision for the betterment of The Gambia.
