established in 2002 have been launched in The Gambia, last week.
The Foundation has been supporting rural Gambian women and individuals championing national development, committing themselves to improve the livelihood of rural communities
Speaking at the launching ceremony, chairman Yaya Danso highlighted the Foundation targets to create a brighter future for women and children in the country by uniting them as one force with a view to undertake development programmes for and in their interest.
Mr. Danso said they are partnering with an international organisation call We Are the Solution, which consists of Senegal, Guinea Bissau, Mali, Ghana, Burkina Faso and The Gambia as member countries.
He said they have also been collaborating with 65 groups or Kafos in The Gambia and supporting them through the construction of boreholes and introduction of child care system that teaches women on how to take care of their children.
Representative of We Are the Solution, Ebrima Danso said WAS movement was created to promote the voice of women farmers in agricultural governance at local, national and continental levels.
