Confederation of African Football (CAF) has congratulated Lamin M. Jassey, the
newly appointed General Secretary of The Gambia Football Federation.
In a letter addressed to the Secretariat, CAF said it would like to offer its warmest congratulations to the new GFF Chief Executive Officer on his appointment and expressed its confidence that his experience, know-how, and leadership will continue to benefit football in The Gambia and allow its durable development.
“We wish you a very successful tenure in your new position and be rest assured that you can count on the support of the Confederation to develop football within Gambia and beyond. Kindly accept, dear General Secretary, my most sincere regards,” the letter concludes.
The GFF announced last week that it had appointed Mr. Jassey as its new GS after overwhelmingly finishing in pole position at a recent job interview, with his appointment coming at a time when the Federation is forging ahead into the future with renewed objectives in consolidating the gains made in the last couple of years and in attaining our strategic development goals.
Jassey, who will assume his duties and responsibilities on January, 1, 2018, was a former Administrative Secretary and an Executive Committee member of then The Gambia Football Association and has a strong passion and good pedigree in football administration dating back to his days at high school.
He holds a Master’s degree in International Development, graduating with a Merit, from the prestigious University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom.
He also attained a BA (Hons) Degree in Public Sociology from the Birmingham City University, as well as an ABE Level 3 Certificate in Human Resources Management, Birmingham Management Training Centre, and a Diploma in Management Studies from the Management Development Institute in The Gambia.
He also bagged a Certificate in Integrated Approach to Rural development from the Rural Development Institute.
