Businessman testifies in theft case

The prosecution second witness (PW2), Sainey Konateh, recently testified in the trial of one Muhammed Jobe, accused of theft at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate P. Sarra.

Konateh told the court that he is a businessman from Old Yundum, and could recall that on 10November 2014, he went to his shop in the morning and found that the shop door was broken and items missing.

He then called his partner, LaminTrawally, to confirm what had happened to the shop.

They reported the matter to the Old Yundum Police Station, from where two police officers accompanied them to see the shop, he said.

According to him, the missing items in his shop were valued at D10,360, adding that later some items were recovered at Latrikunda from the accused person, Muhammed Jobe.

The case was adjourned to 9 February 2015.
