Bundung Mauritania Six-Junction inaugurates water taps

Bundung Mauritania Six-Junction over the weekend inaugurated six water taps through the association for community initiative project, in collaboration with  Friends of The Gambia based in Holland.

The gesture was initiated through a partnership between Friends of The Gambia and the association for community initiative project under the coordination of the councilor, Sulayman Jammeh of Bundung Mauritania Six-Junction.

The partnership has been to ensure that issues affecting women, children, youth in The Gambia are addressed through providing them with water.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the coordinator of the program, Councilor Sulayman Jammeh, thanked the donors for the trust bestowed on him to partner with them in implementing projects in The Gambia.

He commended the women of Bundung Six-Junction for their solidarity in supporting him in implementing a lot of projects in their community.

According to Mr. Jammeh, this was not the first time that the foundation in partnership with his association has installed water taps as they have been doing it for the past years.

He disclosed that the people of Bundung are blessed with water since he assumed office as councilor, stating that the provision of water was part of their first priorities based on their development plans.

He thanked their counterparts based in Holland for supporting him in implementing these projects for the community of Bundung, noting that since 2008, they have been collaborating with their counterparts in Holland.

He challenged his fellow colleagues to be sincere in whatever they are doing regardless of political party affiliation, saying: “let’s serve our electorate to the best of our ability by delivering up to expectation.”

For her part, Anty Amie Jatta expressed similar sentiment and advised the beneficiaries to take care of the taps as water is key in their life.

She also thanked the donors for the magnificent gesture while assuring them that the taps would be sustained in their community.

For her part, the donors, Damiana Van Wissen, who are in The Gambia to ensure that the projects were realised thanked the community of Bundung Six-Junction through the ward councilor Sulayman Jammeh for their solidarity.

She assured them that more projects were in the pipeline for them and a payment of three other taps were also made.
