Councilor for Bundung Mauritani Ward, Sulayman Jammeh recently presented an
amount of D12, 000 to four teams in Bundung that qualified for this year’s
Serrekunda East nawetan season.
The beneficiaries included Eagle Star FC, Future Bi FC, United Stars and Weeh Weeh Bi FC, who all qualified for the nawetan proper after winning their knock-out matches.
Each team will receive D3, 000 as preparations for this year’s Serrekunda East raining season biggest football festivity after securing qualification to the annual championship.
Speaking at the presentation, Hon. Sulayman Jammeh, said the amount presented to the new teams in Bundung is aimed at supporting them in their quest to effectively participate in the Serrekunda East nawetan tournament.
He added that the gesture is geared towards supporting and empowering youth of Bundung, noting that his support would aid the newly promoted Bundung teams in the Serrekunda East nawetan.
Jammeh advised the newly promoted Bundung teams to maintain discipline during the nawetan.
Former Lady Councilor, Aji Amie Jatta, who also doubles as the Project Coordinator Girlfriend to Girlfriend, said they always support people who voted them into office.
“Youth and women of Bundung need this kind of support from the councilors they voted into office’’, Jatta said.
For his part, president of Serrekunda East Sports Development Organisation, Modou O. Njie applauded the Councilor of Bundung Mauritani ward for the support rendered to youth in Bundung Mauritania.
Njie appealed to the teams and players to maintain discipline before, during and after their matches, adding that Serrekunda East zone is being governor by rules and regulations.
Balla Njie, President of Eagle Star FC hailed Bundung Mauritani Ward Councilor for his benevolent gesture.
Other speakers include Abubacarr Sillah of PDOIS; Bakary Camara, who lauded Bundung Mauritani Councilor for the gesture to Bundung teams for the forthcoming Serrekunda East nawetan.
