Buduk Youth Development Association inaugurated

Young people of Buduk Bantaba in Central River Region’s Nianija District recently inaugurated their new development association call Buduk Youth Development Association (BYDA).

The association aims to promote unity, health, education, environmental protection and development within the community and surrounding.   

The inauguration also saw the election of executive members with Samba HM York as president, Momodou Cham Leigh as vice president, Ebrima S York as Secretary and Chief Dawda York as adviser.

They said the association will go a long way in promoting unity among the people of the community and villages within the district of Nianija.          

Village Development Committee (VDC) chairman Dawda Bah and chair Lady Mai Dem both commended the young people their initiative.       

Guest speaker Omar Jatto Jammeh thanked the young people for the numerous activities they have been engaging on, including tree planting exercises.       

Omar Sey, Deputy Governor of CRR underscored the important role young people can play to bring unity, peace and promotion of national development. He also thanked the youth and chief Dawda York for the good initiative. 

Chief York assured them that, he will always support the association, while appealing to the young people to be united and work harder to make Nianija one of the most outstanding districts in education, health, agriculture and awareness on food security within the district.

National Assembly Member of Nianija, Amadou Camara reminded young people to be united, saying no meaningful development can be achieved without unity.
