of Brusubi Rotary Club, Maimuna Sallah Saturday called on club members to be
active participants in the Rotary game and to continue to sensitise young
people about the club.
During the clubs weekly meeting, Madam Sallah told members that Rotary clubs are international organisations known for their services in many part of the world.
She said the Rotary club of Brusubi was formed by three businessmen who came together to stand against competition. “These businessmen wanted to be strong enough to face competitors,” she said.
Madam Sallah said Rotary has nothing to do with politics, saying it is a strictly professional organisation that is non-political and non-religious.
She said at the start, the Club was a high-class organisation involving successful business personnel and when they made profit, they decided to give back to society. “And then, it became a humanitarian organisation.”
She said the Club also ventures in professional development, leadership and community service.
