Brufut
United has recovered in the 2018-2019 Gambia Football Federation (GFF) second
division after slipping to Sporting Real in their previous league fixture.
They
thrashed Lions of Banjul 3-0 in the week-six fixture played at the Father Gough
Sports Complex in Manjai Kunda last Thursday.
The
Brufut-based club lost to Real De Banjul feeder team 3-1 in the re-scheduled
game last Monday before playing against Lions of Banjul, who lose three games
in a row. They scored three excellent goals in the match without Lions of
Banjul replying to bounce back in the second tier after losing to table topper
Sporting Real in their last league outing.
Brufut
United has now leveled on points with Gunjur United with 8 each. Gunjur drew
1-1 with Latrikunda United at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium and Kiang West
also drew 1-1 with Immigration at the Jarra-Soma Mini Stadium.
The
draw earned Kiang West 7 points in six league matches and Immigration with 5
points after six league matches.
Bakau
giant killers Steve Biko defeated Young Africans 1-0 at the Independence
Stadium in Bakau on the same day. The win earned Steve Biko 8 points after six
league matches and Young Africans with 6 points in six league matches as well.
