Brikama, SK East and West grasp wins in Super Nawettan

Brikama, Serrekunda East and West have all snatched victories in the 2018 Gambia Football Federation (GFF) sponsored Super ‘Nawettan’ formarly called Zonal Football Championship after defeating Lamin, Banjul and Sanyang in their opening group matches.

The Brikama Sateyba boys thumped Lamin 2-0 in the all-West Coast Region derby clash played at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium on Sunday to grip their first win in Group C.

The Serrekunda East boys defeated city boys of Banjul 1-0 in their opening Group D fixture played at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium to land their first victory in the annual championship.

The West side boys of Serrekunda West beat debutants Sanyang on the same score line in the other Group D match played at the Father Gough Sports Complex in Manjai Kunda.

Gunjur drew goalless with Brufut in group C tie played at the Serrekunda West Mini Stadium on the same day while Manjai is currently leading group A with 3 points after their resounding 2-0 win over current champions Sukuta in the opening game on Friday.

Farato, Busumbala and Yundum and Kombo East are second and third in Group A with 1 point each following their goalless in their opening group matches.

Defending champions Sukuta are flopping bottom-place in Group A with zero points after losing to Manjai 2-0 in the opening match. Barra, Essau and Mayamba, Foni, Jarra and Kiang United (JAKU) and Serrekunda Central are all with 1 point each in Group B after drawing their opening group matches.

Brikama is leading Group C with 3 points after thumping Lamin 2-0 in their opening group match. Brufut and Gunjur are both with 1 point after their goalless stalemate in their opening group match.

Lamin is languishing bottom-place in Group C with zero point following their 2-0 loss to Brikama. Serrekunda East and West are first and second in Group D with 3 points each after winning their opening group matches.

Banjul and debutants Sanyang are occupying second-place from bottom and bottom-place respectively in Group D with zero point after slipping to Serrekunda East and West in their opening group fixtures.
