Bradford, Medina FC progresses in SESDO knockout cup

Two Tallinding based teams, Bradford and Medina Saturday progressed to the next round of the Serekunda East knockout cup following their respective post-match penalty shootout wins over Latrikunda United and Manchester United.

Bradford in the early game played on Saturday eliminated Latrikunda United 5-4 on post-match penalty shootout after a goalless stalemate in regulation. Bradford, who were earlier eliminated in the league cup after securing 2 points in three games now have only the knockout to compete for.

In-form Latrikunda United, who suffered their first defeat of the Serekunda East tournament so far, will have only the league cup to compete for having collected 8 points in four league cup matches.

In the Saturday late encounter, Medina FC also sent Manchester United out of the knockout competition after a 4-3 post-match penalty shootout win following a 0-0 draw in regulation time.

Medina FC are in both (the league and knockout) tournaments after earlier collecting 6 points in three group D matches, while Manchester United have now seen their Serekunda East Nawetan end following their eliminations in both tournaments.

Meanwhile in the other games that played on Thursday, Milan Rosseneri defeated Cannon FC 5-4 on post-match penalty shootout after a goalless draw, while in the late encounter, Rangers FC also eliminated Nguma FC after a 1-0 score-line.

On Friday, Weeh Weeh Bi also beat Forokono (United Stars) 1-0. At the time of going to press on Sunday, Dubai was battling it out with Hanover FC in the ongoing Serekunda East Knockout cup.
