Boy Balla and France fight set for this weekend

Friday, November 23, 2018

The much-talked about clash between the Jabang-based wrestler Boy Balla and the Banjul-based wrestler France is set for this Sunday at the Independence Stadium in Bakau. The hype around the battle is already beyond expectation after the face-to-face (war of words) between the two wrestlers three to two weeks ago.

The wrestlers will clash for the first time following their successful victories over the Senegalese wrestler Mustapha Gueye  and Gambia’s wrestler Sanneh earlier this year.

Banjul-based France will be crossing daggers with Jabang-based Boy Balla who was feted the best wrestler last campaign. Boy Balla goes into the fight on the back of a victory over Mustapha Gueye, the third Senegalese wrestler he defeated with an impressive unbeaten track record.

France, who also comes on the heels of a rematch victory over Gambia’s Sanneh has vowed to his fans that he will beat down Boy Balla, who many cited to be one of the finest Gambian wrestlers.

Both wrestlers are said to  have had several training sessions and are also good in harsh fights including boxing. The contract between the wrestlers was signed at The Gambia Wrestling Association headquarters midyear.
