Bottrop Project has recently donated 51 spades to the Brikama Area Council at a ceremony held at the Council grounds in Brikama.

At the handing over ceremony, Pa Haruna Jagana of the Bottrop Project and head of Kindergarten Bottrop Nursery school in Kembujeh, said the donation is meant to contribute to the socio-economic advancement of not only residents in Brikama but the entire West Coast Region.

He commended the founder of the Bottrop project Alh Dembo Jatta who, he said, has worked very hard towards the existence of Kindergarten Wattencheid in 1978, Bottrop Kindergarten in 1985 and the Bottrop Technical High school1989.

According to him, his German counterparts sponsored extension of the project by building nursery schools at Dimbaya, Tubakuta, Sanyang, Jamburr and Mandinaba.

Brikama Area Council chairman, Sheriffo Sonko commended the Bottrop Project for the support, saying the tools would help greatly in waste collection especially with the coming of raining season.

Vice chairperson of the Council Ismaila Jallow equally described the donation as timely, stating that the items would help the council overcome some of his challenges in terms of waste collection. He thus urged others stakeholders to emulate Bottrop project.
