Youth Innovative Network (GYIN),has conducted the first-ever spot weeding
The exercise comes as a result of a recommendation made by the Department of Forestry during the last celebration of the International Youth Day.
The programme took place at Foni Bulock West Coast Region, on 6 January 2018.
The Bulock Green Initiative is a local initiative with the aim of planting more trees to preserve nature.
The association with partners planted 2000 trees on 26 August 2017 in Bulock village geared towards the preservation of a green environment, thus combating climate change in the local community.
The village Alkalo, Ansumana Bojang, congratulated the youths in their great efforts and building such foundations for their nation.
Ms Halimatou Ceesay, Vice President of Bulock Kapongha Youth Development Association, said that the initiative was an ongoing process and it emanates from generation to generation.
She pleaded with the association to continue the work and called on them to contribute to the success of the association, saying that “the success of the association is the success of the village.”
The association awarded certificates to institutions and outstanding individuals for their support to the association.
