BJ’s Academy on Tuesday hammered neighbours Latrikunda United 3-1 in a fascinating encounter played at the Serrekunda East mini stadium to book their place in the semi-finals stage of the Serrekunda East Sports Development Organisation (SESDO) League competition.

Samba Jaiteh opened the score line for BJ’s Academy in the 46th minute of the game, while Mustapha Badjie made it 2-0 for Baboucarr Jallow’s Academy in the 57th minute from a fine shot.

Samba Jaiteh sealed the victory for BJ’s Academy in the 77th minute of the game to ensure Modou Lamin Ceesay’s 79th minute goal for Latrikunda United only served as a consolation.

Kawsu Jammeh, head coach of BJ’s Academy, said his side’s defeat by Blue Star FC in the knockout trophy quarter-finals was bitter, which was why they came out for a win in the league quarter-finals game against Latrikunda United.

Samba Jaiteh, hero of the day for BJ’s Academy, who bagged a brace on the day expressed delight for helping his team secure a place in the semi-finals stage of the league cup.

He said they will respect any team they will face in the semi-finals, but will prepare well for them to give the game a respectable performance and carry the day.

He thanked his fans for their support, and urged them to continue to rally behind the team.
