Dreams, Inc, an innovative, creative, and cutting edge 501(c)(3) organisation
that is committed to creating educational opportunities for children and the
youth in the United States and The Gambia to live a healthier lifestyle
recently donated D7, 000 to Sika Sports Committee.
The donation was made, in collaboration with its Gambian Chapter.
The organisation also plans to bring at least 20 health professionals to The Gambia next year to offer free medication and health services to Gambians.
Speaking at the presentation, Pa Lamin Sawo, PRO and Coordinator Big Dreams Gambia chapter, said the organisation has been working with various sectors in the country to support the needy.
He added that they are the country to help those that really need assistance in order to contribute to an improved quality of life for youth and families.
Mr Sawo added that they want to reach out to the needy globally particularly those within Africa by helping them meet their needs.
He stated that they want to partner with other organisations in helping the needy meet their dreams.
He urged beneficiaries to use the money for its rightful purpose.
Pa Saikou Sonko, Acting Chairman of Sika Sports Committee, said they have been seeking for such assistance for a while and therefore thanked Big Dreams for their generosity on behalf of the entire village.
Mr Sonko pointed out that football is an expensive sport, adding that the gesture has taken them out of a very difficult situation, as football could not go on in the absence of finance.
He expressed their readiness to continue working with Big Dreams for the development of sports in the village.
Kalifa Sonko, Siko United head coach also expressed delight at the gesture and thanked Big Dreams. He prayed for the growth of the organisation as well as the health and longevity of members.
He assured the donors that the donated money would be used for the purpose.
