Berewuleng FC Crowned Knock-out Champions

Brikama Mini Stadium was the venue for a thrilling final between Berewuleng FC and Real Chelsea FC of Western Region. The tourney was organising by the Brikama Youth and Sport Association, which saw its final, held on Saturday 4thJanuary 2009.

The kick-off was taken by Malang Bojang the most popular elderly man in the town. Both teams demonstrated genuine skills in the early part of the first half before Berewuleng FC No. 17 Buba Faye, alias Olumo, registered his team's first goal in the sixth minute of the first half.

When play resumed in the second half No. 17 Buba Faye of Berewuleng FC scored his team's second goal in the 47thminute. In the 90thminute of the match Berewuleng FC's Buba Faye scored his team's third goal through a crossed ball from the far left flank by Berewuleng FC No. 19 Sulayman Ceesay securing the 3-0 victory.

As knock- out champions, Berewuleng FC bagged D10,000 and a giant trophy, which was presented to them by the National Assembly Member for Kombo East Honourable Lamin Bojang. Real Chelsea FC as runners-up received D8,000 while the best player of the match medal went to Berewuleng FC man of the match Buba Faye.

Present were the National Assembly Member for Kombo Central, Honourable Abdou Jarjue and Mr. Terema Dahaba GFA Technical Director for FIFA Gold Project at old Yundum village and football fans from Brikama and its surrounding areas.
