Belgian first Amateur Division club Lierse Kempenzonen has taken Scorpions striker Ibou Sawaneh on trial, The Point Sports can report.
The Gambian international was a free agent after quitting second-tier side AFC Tubize where he endured a difficult time, featuring in only seven matches and without finding the back of the net since joining the club in early January.
The 33-year-old, who was once a sort talent in 2012, attracting interest from St. Etienne, Bayer Leverkusen and other top European clubs, has now been given a chance to revive his career at Lierse, should he impress manager Dave De Herdt? According to the Gazet van Antwerpen.
Lierse Kempenzonen, formerly known as SK Lierse, are currently in the Belgian third-tier after their bankruptcy in May 2018. They are currently lying sixth on the third-tier league table with 18 points after 13 outings.
