Barrow Youth Movement inaugurated in Wassu

Young people in Central River Region (CRR) community of Wassu and the satellite villages have recently inaugurated their movement of the Barrow Youth for National Development. A citizen of Niani district who said he has hope in the movement that it will bring development in the country sponsored the inauguration.

He said, he decided to sponsor the inauguration so that young people can be enlightened about the movement, securing democracy, awareness and creation of job opportunities for young Gambians.

Addressing the ceremony, Niani District chief Pierre Bah called on the youths of his district to rally behind the president, saying even if Alkalos and other civil servants are not part of politics they should be part of national development because they are all answerable to the government.

Siaka Jatta, President Adama Barrow’s political adviser thanked the people of Niani for the establishing the youth movement in their area. He assured them that president Barrow will bring many developments in The Gambia including Niani.         

Sainey Jawara, National Assembly Member for Lower and Sarja Sey, coordinator of the Barrow Youth for National Development in CRR, Mawdo Touray, CRR North and South head of political affairs all commended the youth for their efforts.

Alkalo of Wassu Ba Lamin Keita, Lady Councilor Maimuna Barry said it is time for every Gambian to be ready to participate in the modernisation of The Gambia to a better country that everyone yearns for.
