minister of Information, Communication and Infrastructure, Demba Ali Jawo, in his maiden press briefing with journalists
on Thursday, revealed that President Adama Barrow will soon announce the
position of the vice presidency.
This announcement has come as part of the new government’s plans to embark on a rectification programme, which includes putting in place a comprehensive communication strategy by holding regular press briefings to keep people abreast of the government’s policies and programmes.
“President Barrow is working on announcing the position of vice presidency very soon,” Minister Jawo said.
He added that the government is doing its best to create employment for the youth, improve the tourism sector and cut down the high rate of foreign currencies against the dalasi.
The aim of the maiden monthly press briefing by the Information Minister is to give a general overview of activities within and outside the government including developments taking place over the period.
