Barrow appoints Mai as special adviser

Mai Ahmad Fatty, the former minister of the Interior has been appointed as special adviser of President Adama Barrow. Yusupha Cham political adviser of the president and also regional chairman for West Coast Region has been removed ,a source familiar with the matter told The Point. He was replaced Siyaka Jatta  who was deputy governor at western region  

In a similar vein, Almami Fanding Taal, the former High Court judge and legal adviser for the Organisation of Islamic Corporation (OIC), Banjul Secretariat has been fired.

Mr. Taal, who is also the spokesperson of UDP was said to have received his letter over the weekend.

 According to sources, no reason (s) was given in connection with their sacking, but recently the Gambian leader Adama Barrow had warned that any government official who tries to sabotage his administration will be sacked. However, it’s not clear whether their sacking had to do with Mr. Barrow’s warning.
