Federation domestic division one league following their 2-0 defeat to Gambia
Ports Authority in the week-four fixture played at the Independence Stadium in
Bakau on Tuesday.
The Banjul-based football club regained promotion back to the top flight season and were unbeaten prior to their week-four encounter with the ferry boys, who have drawn their opening three league matches.
Gambia Ports Authority were the better side in the encounter and scored two goals to land their first victory in the country’s top flight this season, after drawing their three opening league matches.
The defeat was Banjul United’s first-ever defeat in the country’s top flight so far this season, after winning two and drawing one before losing to Gambia Ports Authority 2-0 in their fourth match.
Banjul United are second in the top flight with 7 points in four league matches one point behind league leaders Gamtel, who have snatched 8 points after four matches.
Gambia Ports Authority is third with 6 points in four league matches, after winning one and drawing one.
Elsewhere, Bombada drew 3-3 with Bakau giant killers Steve Biko at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on the same day to secure their first point in the top flight, after losing their three opening league matches.
Steve Biko has 3 points, after four league matches and Bombada are still struggling with only 1 point in four league matches.
