An assault case involving Daniel Eben Thomas who was charged with assaulting his sister-in-law, Mary Mendy, resumed on 29th April 2010 before magistrate Drammeh of the Kanifing Magistrates' Court.

The prosecuting officer, ASP Sanneh, applied under Section 169 of the CPC for an additional charge to the charge sheet.

He submitted that a man called Masaneh Demba was seriously injured by the accused, causing actual bodily harm.

Magistrate Drammeh then told the court that since the accused was being represented by lawyer Sagarr Jahateh, who was not present in the court, she should advise her client when he is taking his plea for an additional charge.

The case was subsequently adjourned to 13th May 2010 for continuation.
