Scorpions’ international striker Assan Ceesay, Wednesday scored twice to earn his FC Zurich side victory after beating Red Star 3-2 in the Swiss cup tournament.

According to Gambia Sports, the in-form Gambian striker who is currently finding playing time hard to come by in the league, capitalized on his limited opportunities to score on his first start in the Swiss Cup competition.

Salim Khelifi, Tunisian midfielder opened the scoring for the visiting Red Star after two minutes before Ceesay’s brace in 22 minutes which ensured Red Star Zürich’s two late goals were mere consolations.

The 24-year-old will hope his performance is enough to depose Nigerian striker Stephen Odey in Coach Ludovic Magnin’s starting line-up when Zürich visits FC Luzern in the Swiss Super League on Sunday.
