Assan Ceesay awarded best Gambian foreign player

Scorpions international striker Assan Ceesay, who plays for FC Zurich in Switzerland has been awarded best Gambian foreign player 2018 sponsored by Kerrfinder, a Real Estate Agency.

The Gambian sensational striker beats Musa Barrow of Atalanta in Italy and Buba Sanneh of ASC Anderlecht in Belgium. The award that was handed to the striker by the Gambian legendary Ebou Sillah was held in Banjul.

Ebou Sillah expressed delights for the striker, noting that this is the first time of meeting striker Assan Ceesay, saying he fully deserved the award.

This award shows that Assan Ceesay is really delivering. I am behind the population in praying for him and the rest of the players to go higher heights,” he said.

For his part, Assan Ceesay, expressed delight to the people for recognising what he’s doing, noting that this award would serve as a motivation to his career.

“It’s a very important award. It motivates you. It’s a sign that so many are following what you are doing. There are lots of players who could easily win it but if you win it, it shows you really working hard,” he said.

He added that 2018 was a good year for him as he secured a move from FC Lugano to FC Zurich and a run of four goals in five games for the senior scorpions. He added that this is a motivation and that they want to continue from where they left in the AFCON qualifiers, saying that their desire is to see Gambia in African cup of nations.
