Alleged theft case reaches court

One Famara Njie was recently arraigned before Magistrate Gomez of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, charged with stealing.

He denied the charge and was granted court bail of D25,000 with a Gambian surety, who must swear to an affidavit of means and deposit an ID card.

The charge sheet read in court stated that the accused, Famara Njie, some time in July 2015 at Pipeline in the Kanifing Municipality, stole an amount of US$465 equivalent to D18,600 being the monies given to him by one Anwar Dadra for renewal of a Syrian national passport.

The case was adjourned till 20 August 2015.
