Alleged theft case proceeds

The alleged theft case involving one Daniel Sanyang and Kafaba Manneh recently proceeded at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Abeke.

Testifying as the third defence witness, Amadou Manneh told the court that he resides in Madina Salam.

He said one day his son, Kafaba Manneh, the second accused, told him that he was going to Brikama Health Centre for treatment and when he left on the morning of that day he did not come back.

“At around 4 PM I saw my son coming with some police officers. I asked him what happened and he told me he met with Daniel Sanyang, the first accused, in possession of some solar panel, who told him that he got them from Kafunting in Casamance from one Clabush,” he explained.

“I went to Kafunting and saw Clabush. I came with him to The Gambia and handed him over to the police,” the defence witness explained.

At that juncture, the case was adjourned till 9 May 2011.
