Alleged suspects arraigned for Farato Petrol Station theft

Sulayman Fatty and Lamin Ceesay were recently arraigned before the Brikama Magistrates’ Court, presided over by principal magistrate Omar Cham, on a single charge of stealing by clerk or servant.

The prosecution alleged that the accused persons between the months of January and July 2017, at Farato Village Petrol Station, being employees of the Tech World Oil Company, stole 2,925 litres of petrol and 3,867 litres of Gasoil from the said petrol station, valued at D220,000.00.

The accused persons pleaded not guilty to the charge and each of them was admitted to a bail of D150, 000, with two Gambian sureties, all of whom shall swear to an affidavit of means and deposit their I.D. cards with the Registrar of the Court.

Hearing continues on 5 October 2017.
