alleged killers of the late Musa Colley, a 20 year-old in Brikama couple of
days ago, were wrongly accused as the true culprit confessed to his crime, it
has been revealed.
Three suspects including the deceased girlfriend were alleged to be involved in the act and were arrested and detained at the Brikama Police Station, as they help the police in their investigations.
The police spokesman David Kujabi at a time confirmed the arrest of the suspects and their detention.
At a press briefing on Wednesday at State House, the Director Press Aminata Bojang-Sissoho said the president was informed of the wrongful accusation of the alleged suspects and that the person who committed the crime has confessed to his crimes.
“On internal security, the situation was calm until the Brikama incident where a man was killed,” she said.
The press director continued. “Investigations were done and the president was informed that the people who were initially accused as reported was not the case and that the actual killer has confessed and the witness who was there also confessed and they are now under remand.”
Meanwhile, the press director confirmed the appointment of new Inspector General of Police, a position which the then Deputy IG Momar Jobe was handling as acting.
The position is now confirmed according the press director. “Also under interior, the Deputy IGP Momar Jobe has been confirmed as Inspector General of Police and the Deputy Inspector General of Police is Abdoulie Sanyang,” she revealed.
