United will lock horns with Lameng FC in the final of Toubakolong Youth and
Sports Development Association nawetan.
Aljamju United made it to the final, following their 1-nil win over Lions of Albreda FC in the semi-final encounter, played at the Toubakolong Football Field in Upper Niumi District, North Bank Region on Sunday 24th September 2017.
Abdoulie Jallow was the hero of the day after scoring the only goal of the game in the 79th minute.
Earlier on Saturday 23rd September 2017, Lameng FC beat Sika United 3-2 on post-match penalty shoot-outs, following a goalless draw in regulation time in the other semi-final clash to book their place in the final of the tournament, sponsored by Njundu Sonko, a native of Toubakolong, who is currently residing in Holland.
Kemo Ceesay, Chairman Toubakolong Youth and Sports Development Association, thanked the public, especially elders from satellite villages, who always grace the games with their presence.
He also thanked the Upper Niumi Development Association whose members both at home and abroad are keen followers of the tournament, as well as for their support.
He then thanked Essau Sports Committee under the leadership of Yankuba Marong for their guidance and support, as well as the members of the media, particularly West Coast Radio and The Point Newspaper.
In another development, preparations are at an advanced stage to play another football tournament in the same village and teams are urged to attend a meeting, billed for 7th October 2017 at Toubakolong to put final touches on its commencement.
