Gambian striker Ali Sowe’s back-to-back brace inspired CSKA Sofia to a firm position in the 2018-2019 Bulgarian premier league.

Sowe scored a double in his side 2-1 win over Etar FC on Saturday after scoring a brace in his side 5-1 over victory Septemvri in their previous league outing.

The 24-year-old, who signed a permanent deal with the Sofia-based club from Chievo, scored in the 69th and 82nd minutes of the game to put his team in a firm position in the league.

This is the first time for the Gambian striker to score a back-to-back brace for CSKA Sofia after penning a permanent deal from the Italian side Chievo Verona.

Ali Sowe continued his goal scoring form in the Bulgarian league but he was not featured in Tom Saintfiet team against Benin.

According to sources, he is likely not to be selected for the Scorpions clash with the Desert Foxes in their final group qualifier match on 22 March in Blida.
