Alassana Jatta scores five goals in Paide win over Kuressaare

Gambian striker, Alassana Jatta has hit five goals during his Estonian side, Paide Linnameeskond 7-0 thrashing over FC Kuressaare in their match day 16 fixtures in the Estonian Meistriliiga played Paide linnastaadion on Wednesday.

The 20-year-old opened the score in the first minutes of the first half, before completing his hat-trick in the 24th and 40th minutes respectively. Ander Ott added his name in the score-sheet in the 44th minute just before going into the break.

The former Real De Banjul striker, added another goal in his name in the 75th minute, making his fifth goal in stoppage time of the 90th minute. Siim Aer sealed the game with his 79th minute strike.

The victory has maintained Paide fourth in the Estonian Meistriliiga (First Division League) with 33 points, a point behind third place Nomme Kalju with 34 points, while FC Kuressaare is sitting on sixth position with 16 points, after sixteen games.

However, the latest goal from Jatta has made him scored eleven goals in eleven matches for Paide and also moved him to second position in the Estonian Meistriliiga leading goal-scorers list.    

Speaking in a post-match interview, Alassana Jatta expressed delights in continue scoring for Paide, noting the game’s score-line is not a surprise. 

“It was a very, very good game. I’m very happy with the score-line,” said Jatta to EJL.

“We worked very hard on this victory since last week. We won 6-0 in our previous game against Viljandi JK Tulevik, so maybe it’s no surprise. We deserve this victory.”

The 20-year-old star, who hits 11 goals this season, nine of which have come after a break from injury, revealed that all his goals came as a result of teamwork as they’ve been working hard since the start of the season.

“I’ve been working hard after getting back from the injury break, and I think the team impresses me,” he said

Paide will next play away to Maardu, while Kuressaare FC will travel to face FCI Levadia in the week-sixteen fixtures of the Estonian Premiere League on Saturday.
