Sukai Ndateh Memorial Senior Secondary School recently held a graduation for
its 2019 grade 12 students at the school’s campus at Mile 7 in Bakau.
This year’s graduation was held on the theme: Resilience towards Youth empowerment.
Delivering a brief summary of the school’s achievement during past years, Principal Haddy Sey-Jammeh explained how clubs and departments, such as the UNESCO liberal arts club, business and social sciences department have contributed in the improvement of the school.
Momodou Dibba, director of Information and Communication at the UNESCO national federation, said the way young people are engaged and educated will determine the prospects of harnessing The Gambia’s democratic gains and foster development for a common good.
Guest speaker and executive director of the National Youth Council, Lamin Darboe commended the graduating class for their dedication in their educational pursuit and praised the teachers for guiding the students all the way through.
