Ajax FC of Giboroh Kuta village on Saturday beat Faraba Bantang 2-1 in a well-contested final clash played at the Pirang Football Field to claim the 2015 Kombo East tournament title.
Ajax FC opened the tally through Yankuba Jallow in the 10th minute of the game to give the Academy boys the lead.
Faraba Bantag responded back for equalizer and managed to pull one through striker Dominic Demba in the 70th minute of the game, which eventually proved to be a consolation goal for them.
The final showed an excellent exhibition of skills and panache and attracted spectators from Kombo East District and environs including Sulayman Gassama, who works at State House, head coach of Gamtel FC Tapha Manneh and Giboroh Alkalo Sheriff Jatta.
Speaking to reporters shortly after the final, Ajax FC coach Buba Sanyang alias Oliver Khan thanked all the coaches of the teams, players and the fans as well as elders for their tireless contribution towards the success of the tournament.
Sanyang hailed his mother, brothers, manager, Ebrima Jarju and Dr Adama Kanteh for their support.
