Record Management, a new company in The Gambia on Thursday launched its
warehouse building, situated in Kanifing Municipality.
AGS Record Management is a company that aims to assist all Gambians (private, public, NGOs, individuals) to keep their documents in safe condition, through assessing all documents, files and maintaining them physically and electronically in their new warehouse building.
Speaking at the launching ceremony held at the AGS’s office, opposite Gamtel in Kanifing, the Branch Manager of AGS record management, Martial Chazeaud, said the company which is a new initiative in The Gambia has been in operation since 2001 to introduce record-keeping in The Gambia, as they are doing in 52 African countries.
He urged all Gambians to safely keep their documents, adding that “if one keeps their document with them one could get access to them at any period of time and in a civilized manner.”
He disclosed that they have enough workers to do the job and also enough spaces to store documents in a safe condition, for both the public and private sector, as they meet the demands of different services.
He added that their charges depend on the quality and period of time an individual wants to keep his/her materials with them.
For her part, Madam Emefa Djakpo, the programme manager of AGS Record Management, described their services as very important since they help in keeping records.
He noted that they are professionals in keeping documents, and she assured them of their commitment to work hand-in-hand with the government and the people of The Gambia to move the country forward.
