Abuko Utd pip Brikama Utd in Women 1st division

Abuko United on Friday defeated Brikama United female team 1-0 in the opening fixtures of the 2016-2017 Women division one league played at the Serrekunda West Mini stadium.

Fatoumatta Jobe could have opened the scores in 15th minute of the game but her brilliant shot was saved by Brikama net-minder Philomena.

Fatou Dukureh opened the scores in the 58th minute from a spot-kick after Agie Jallow handled the ball in the eighteenth-yard box a goal that proved to be the decider and set out the winner.

Elsewhere, on Saturday, Immigration beat Future bi 1-0 at the Independence Stadium in Bakau, whilst on Sunday Interior thumped Armed Forces 2-0 at West Park with Mbassey Darboe scoring a brace.
