The well-contested derby played at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium saw both sides put up respectable performance knowing that anything less than a win will see them bow out of the competition.

Uprising FC were the better side of the first period, mounting pressure on Abuko United but could not break through their solid defence line despite numerous attempts thus the first half ended goalless.

As action resumed in the second period, Abuko United turned the tie around by putting their opponent under serious pressure thus breaking the deadlock through Sainey Bojang in the 65th minute of the game from a spot-kick.

The win guarantees them a place in the next stage of the competition.

Elsewhere at the Serrekunda West on the same day, Pipeline beat Anfield by 1-nil in their 3pm encounter, while Latrikunda FC were held to a 1-all draw by Kanifing United in the 5pm kickoff.

In Bakau, Zibra FC beat Kansala FC on post-match penalty kicks.

Fajara FC overcame Scan Tours, better known as Six and One, 4-2 on penalty kicks.

Olso FC lost to Vidar FC by 3-2 on post-match penalty shootouts following a 1-all draw on regulation time.
