attacker Ablie Jallow’s French Ligue 2 side Metz FC have been crowned champions
of the French division Ligue 2 after beating Brest 1-0 in their final game of
the season, over the weekend.
The title earned Metz FC the promotion to the French Ligue 1 after convincingly beating their arch-competitor Brest FC by a lone goal to nil, through Habib Diallo in the 90th minute.
The 20-year-old made a significant contribution to help the team gain promotion back to the topflight competition next season. The former Generation Foot and Real de Banjul player only made eight league game appearances and some couple of league cups game.
Germane, as he is fondly called, might be sent out on loan elsewhere as he is surplus to requirement under their caretaker coach Vicent Hognon but he is contracted with the club FC Metz until 2022.
Both Metz FC and Brest FC sealed their qualifications after occupying the first and second positions respectively.
Metz who goes by their nickname The Maroons, won the Ligue tournament with 81 points, while Brest FC on second with 74 points after 38 matches.
